TekTip: Audio Quality of TE905(A) Tek-ENTRY^® Telephone Entry Systems

In isolated situations, acoustical feedback can exist when the TE905(A) panel is mounted in an enclosure. This scenario is identified by noise and/or distortion that stops when the panel is removed from the enclosure. The feedback is due to the acoustical properties of the installation itself.

The solution is to use foam to isolate the backs of the speaker and the microphone from one another. Since this scenario is due to the specifics of an installation, there is no uniform answer for how much insulation is required. Therefore, the installer should follow a "trial and error" approach.
