TekTip: PK724 Amplifier wiring
Our technical support staff would like to remind our customers about some key wiring points for the PK724 amplifier and its accessories.
- Twisted pair cable must be used.
- Please adhere to the maximum cable length chart found below.
(Also found in the PK724 installation instructions.) Running your cable longer than the
recommended length may result in feedback.
- 1 station 600 feet (180 meters)
2 stations 300 feet (90 meters)
3 stations 160 feet (50 meters)
4 stations 80 feet (25 meters) - Maximum number of stations per cable: 4
Maximum number of stations per system: 20
- 1 station 600 feet (180 meters)
- Twenty-two gauge wire must be used. The incorrect wire could result in distortion or loss of your signal. The correct wire gauge is shown in IL537, Page 2, Figure 2.
- In IL537, Figure 3 displays twisted pair wiring for conductors 1 & 2 and conductors 3 & 4. Not using twisted pair cable may result in input/output distortion. Incorrect pair crossing may result in inductive feedback.
Please call us at TekTone® for the most recent revision of IL537 or if you have any further questions.
