TekTip: IR102B Apartment Intercom Station testing procedures
This TekTip provides testing procedures for the IR102B Apartment Station with TALK/LISTEN button.
The IR102B Apartment Station eliminates the old two-button method for talk and listen. The tenant presses only one button to talk, and releases to listen. This intercom station is not voice/noise activated, thus avoiding the need for a costly amplifier with its problems and expensive maintenance.
For testing purposes, follow these guidelines:
Equipment needed: PK543 Amplifier, IR102B Station, speaker, and SS102A or SS105B Transformer.
Method:
- Connect IR102B to amplifier as per the installation instructions, IL275A. You must connect speaker, transformer and station to PK543 Amplifier.
- Push TALK/LISTEN button to establish communication both ways. (Press button to talk and release to listen.)
- A few seconds after conversation is completed, or as soon as the door button is pressed, the station should shut off.
If all these steps are accomplished successfully, then the IR102B should be considered satisfactory.
